The Craps Lesson Newsletter Vol XVI, Issue I
May - June 2007

Dear Craps Enthusiasts,

In the last newsletter I told you how catching a great roll was not just a probability, but simply inevitable as long as you continued playing. At which point, all your money of past losses that the casino had been holding for you, would be given back all at once; possibly with a good bit of interest added. Well, have I got a great story for you!

Up in the Bitterroot where I live in Montana, when I'm not down in Las Vegas teaching someone how to make a great score at the craps table, I can often be found at the Fly fishing Center in Hamilton. The owners, Dick and Linda, tolerate my coming and going there because they never know when I'm going to come in with some wild story about how much money I just won. Not to mention buy more fly fishing stuff! Plus Ted, my fishing and hunting buddy ties flies there, and of course we frequently have to meticulously plan our next fishing excursion from there. Talking about it is half the fun, you know.

Brett is a kid that builds some rods with Dick during the winter; he fights forest fires the rest of the year, which is quite a demanding job time wise as well as physically. Earlier in the year, he'd told Ted that he wanted to go steelhead fishing with us down on the Salmon River. Ted told me he felt like Brett was a good kid and we should take him. So we did, he was, and we all had a great time.

Somewhere along that trip Brett told me he went to Vegas every year for NASCAR week where he routinely deposited $5,000 or so into the Vegas economy. I told him there was a better way to run the gauntlet of betting propositions they offer down there, and gave him my book on craps so he'd be better informed.

As days of idle chatter in the fly shop went by through the winter months, along with the occasional hard fought battle of tug-of-war with a steelhead, one day Brett told Margaret that his Vegas trip was coming up in a couple of weeks and for her not to forget that he wanted to be penciled in for some time with me at a craps table while he was there.

Now if there's one thing I hate, it's playing for/with someone I know. They expect a better chance of winning because they know me, but it doesn't work that way-it's still gambling. Plus I guess in all reality, I want to win all that much more too. After all, the guy's one of my fishing buddies! But the dice don't care.

So here we are in Vegas, no stream, no campfire, no snow flurries blowing across fly lines, not big ol' steelhead to play with; just scantily clad cocktail waitresses and craps tables equipped with dealers, looking at us they way we look at steelhead!

From the very beginning it went just like I knew it would-nothing buy 7's, with no collections in sight. I placed the last bet on the table, and with one dollar left in my rack, that's when it happened: a shooter rolled and rolled and rolled. During the roll, I did exactly what I teach everyone to do who comes to me: I bet and bet and bet.

When the shooter sevened out, I had amassed $30,000 in our rack! Brett was ecstatic! I was pretty happy, too; you can bet on that. Actually, after I gave Brett his initial investment back and they dealers some cash as a token of our appreciation for cheering me on as I maneuvered bets like they've never seen, we divided up $29,000: that's $14,500 each! Brett was a pretty happy camper. (And by the way, the person with the next highest winnings at that very same table walked away with only $3,000!)

It wasn't until I got home and saw him in the fly shop again that he told me that during the rest of his Vegas stay, he'd won $5,000 in one session and $7,000 on another session.

The moral, I suppose, of this true story is: it happens. You never know when or exactly for how much, but it does definitely happen.

My advice to you is only this: It would be a wise decision for you to look into some flights to Vegas and book an appointment to spend some time with me at a craps table where I can show you this betting procedure. That appointment will have a direct impact on the amount of money you will win at a craps table for the rest of your life. This is not a joke, it's not a lie, or is it some made-up marketing scheme-it's a fact.

If you'd like to learn how to make a lot of money at a craps table, I can show you personally how to do it. Give Margaret a call and talk with her about it. I promise you, you'll be glad you did.

Good Luck and Best Wishes,

Gene and Margaret - The Craps Teacher

Reader Question

A guy e-mailed me a question, asking if what we teach people is better than increasing your bets by 50% when they hit.

I ran some numbers, and am pleased to report that our progression beats by at least 2 times both the "press 50% of bet on the table" ($18 on the 6/8 pays $21 press $12 - you can't do $9 so round to nearest multiple of $6 - to have $30 bet on the table) and the "press 50% of win" ($30 on the 6/8 pays $35, press $18 - again the nearest multiple of $6 - to go to $48 bet on the table). In one scenario on the 4/10, we win 3 times the amount of one of the 50% formulas. Would you rather win $1,000 or $3,000? I know which I would choose!

In fact, we do a little better than 2 times the 50% progressions, because when I ran the numbers, I started our progression after one collection was made - as opposed to beginning to press immediately like I did with the 50% formula. So we are actually one step behind the 50% formula in terms of pressing, but still 2 times ahead in money collected.

Having said that, if you read Gene's monthly letter above, you probably noted that when he won $30,000 on a hot roll, the next highest amount won at the table was $3,000. That's 10 times more money won by Gene than by the average person at a craps table. Again, would you rather win $1,000 or $10,000 on a roll?

So if you want to win 200%, or even 300% or more, the amount of money that an average person would normally make at a craps table, then order the book or call to make an appointment for a private lesson. In fact, do both! You'll be glad you did.
